The serial production of 3D Printed parts requires an up front qualifying process in order to ensure a continous high quality over time. We can assist you with undertaking that procedure with our systematic qualification process. The qualification starts with a validation of the part geometry. Early adaption of the geometry to the process will save time and money in later process steps as well as in the final part. The qualification process entails qualification of material, the production process and the machine itself.
Internal grinding proccess are used to produce high quality surfaces and accurate dimensions of axles and liners. The accessability at the grinding process is limited which results in a large consumption coolant and lubricant fluids which can not be applied directly at the grinding area. Only with 3D Printing, an economic approach for the production of optimised grinding nozzle geometries becomes possible. Those optimized designs lead to a significant reduction of fluid consumption and thus a reduction of costs. The manufacturing time for the grinding processes can be reduced as well as the cost for the nozzle production.
The introduced nozzle was developed and produced in cooperation with the coolant specialist Grindaix GmbH and the 3D Printing machine manufacturer Trumpf. The design was obtimised regarding a minimum of cost and a capability for serial production with as little processing steps as necessary.
