A systematic approach for a
high and constant quality
Input for part screening are the part lists and CAD files of parts and assemblies that are subject for screening. The data will be filtered for e.g. weight, material, dimensions, number of parts.
The pre screening is being done in assembly view of the parts. This way, the potential for integration of part functionality can be evaluated. This step also includes a strip off of all unprintable materials such as electronics or textiles or too large dimensions.
The remaining parts will be investigated for 3D Printing potential as to weight and cost reduction, integration of functionality, reduction of assembly steps or spare parts. In addition to that the necessary input for a redesign is being estimated. Only the potential parts will be chosen for the next step.
Calculation and redesign
In this last step, the potential parts are being redesigned and calculated in detail. This results in a group of parts that are than ready for first prints, testing and further on production either in the parts on demand process or a serial production.
